At Grace Hopper STEM Academy, I was part of the founding team, working alongside educators, community leaders, and donors to build something that had never existed before. We collaborated on everything: the vision, the curriculum, the culture, and later the first-of-its-kind residential program for 24 girls from foster care. I worked with school leadership to define what the dorm should provide, partnered with corporate sponsors like Apple and Microsoft to secure funding and technology, and stayed in the mix with mentors, staff, and students to make sure the tools matched the needs. It was a true community build—many hands, one mission.
